Marilyn Shull Brown, Director
Marilyn Brown is the director of RCM and founded the school in 1986. She is a Steinway Artist and Nationally Certified Teacher of Music. Mrs. Brown is a member of MTNA, NCMTA, Raleigh Piano Teacher's Association, and the Raleigh Music Club. She received her B.A. from Salem College in Piano with a minor in Education. She made her piano debut in 1953 with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. and established Marilyn Brown Piano Studios in 1963. She is a workshop clinician, author, and adjudicator. She specializes in teaching adults, advanced teens, and local and state pageant preparation. Her students have been local, state, national, and international winners in piano and composition along with winning 1995 Miss North Carolina and Miss America Talent. She has produced over 145 graduates who have entered prestigious music schools and earned millions in scholarship awards. Mrs. Brown has been awarded International Who's Who in Music, Who's Who Among Outstanding Americans, International Who's Who of Professional and Business Women, Raleigh Medal of Arts Nominee for Outstanding Individual Service to the Arts, Who's Who in America, and International Cultural Diploma of Honor. She was also given Salem College's Distinguished Alumna Award in 1999 and the Raleigh Arts Commission Arts Education Award in 2001.

Anne V. Scoggin, Piano
Anne V. Scoggin received her M.M. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Meredith College in 1992 and her B.M. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She was in independent piano teacher in Louisburg for over thirty years and is a former piano instructor at Campbell University. Mrs. Scoggin has been a church organist for over twenty-five years. She is a State and Nationally Certified Teacher of Music. Mrs. Scoggin is a member of MTNA, NCMTA, and the Raleigh Piano Teacher's Association. She joined the RCM faculty in 1991.
